We chose to get married at the top of Keystone for many reasons! First of all, it is absolutely beautiful! The views from atop this mountain are absolutely breathtaking and second to none! Another reason this mountain holds a special place in our hearts is this is where Ted first taught me to ski! And knowing what I know now, you NEVER teach a friend or a family member how to ski. It simply requires way too much patience…more than most of us possess. But Ted did it! He started me on blues, which scared the you know what out of me, but I got down the mountain in one piece! Three hours later… but I did it! I will always remember that day! Keystone also has a cute little village with lots of fun restaurants and shops. We thought it would be perfect place to have our wedding activities and have our guests stay for the weekend!
The ceremony and the reception are both at the same location. How many of you have never been on a gondola? Well now you will get your chance! The location is 2 gondola rides up the mountain where you will get to see the gorgeous views the whole way up! You will need to arrive at the Gondola no later than 4:15 PM to be sure you make it to the 5 PM ceremony on time! We will be getting married on the wedding deck at Timber Ridge in front of the beautiful mountain ranges. We couldn’t ask for a more spectacular venue, than the natural beauty of the mountains and the evergreens that God has created!
The cocktail hour and reception will be held on the deck and inside Timber Ridge, which is a ski lodge with tall cathedral ceilings and a magnificent fireplace. There will be a huge dance floor, so be sure to bring your dancing shoes because we expect to see everyone out dancing!!
The reception will end at 11pm, but there will be an after party at the base of the mountain for all the party animals, you know who you are ;-)
